Tai Chi Prime Leader Training – 6 Hours

Prerequisite: Certification in the Tai Chi Fundamentals® Adapted Program (TCFA)
This training will be conducted remotely over Zoom. The times for the training are in Central Time.

Course Description: Prepares certified TCFA instructors to become leaders for the evidence-based Tai Chi Prime class series featuring instruction in the TCFA Program (Optional Side Support version) and home practice coaching. Presents the curriculum and class format for teaching Tai Chi Prime participants Basic Moves, TCF Short Form, Mind/body skills, and Everyday Qi Gong. Provides training in home practice coaching and leading group discussions.
Objectives
After this training, Tai Chi Prime Leaders will be able to:
1. Outline the overall curriculum for Tai Chi Prime classes
2. Plan Tai Chi Primes classes and manage class time to maintain program fidelity
3. Explain the results of published research on Tai Chi Prime
4. Facilitate and model home practice planning and coaching activities
5. Lead and manage group discussions
Completing this Leader Training certifies participants as Tai Chi Prime Leaders.
Applications
Tai Chi Prime classes can be taught through healthcare community outreach and other community-based wellness classes, VA settings, senior centers, health clubs, and assisted living. For: wellness, balance, pain management, MS, Parkinson’s, neurological and autoimmune conditions, cancer, PTSD, TBI, and cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
